Lyle C. Dickson, age 78, of Swanton, Ohio, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family, early Sunday morning, July 31, 2011 at Hospice of Northwest Ohio in Perrysburg. He was born October 31, 1932 in Youngstown, Ohio to William Lawrence and Effie Mae (Mayberry) Dickson. Lyle served in the U.S. Army and was a Korean War veteran member of the Sharp Shooter Division. He received his BA Degree in Mechanical Engineering from Youngstown State. On May 4, 1968, he married his beloved wife, Melva Triplett. Lyle worked for Owens Corning Fiberglass for 30 years, retiring in 1991.

Lyle built airplanes as a hobby and was a member of the Experimental Aircraft Association Charter #149. He was a longtime member of Trinity United Methodist Church in Swanton.

Lyle was a great man and loving husband, father, and grandfather. He will be greatly missed by his loving wife of 43 years Melva; daughters, Teresa (Robert) Ondo and Pamela Sue (Joseph) Trombley; grandchildren, Richard A., III (Stephanie) Noonan, James Michael Noonan and Kyra Marie Trombley; great-grandchildren, Patryck, Richard IV, and Kassidy Noonan; and brother, Walter (Dora Mae) Dickson.

Lyle was preceded in death by his parents, and sister, Janice Guidosh.

Family and friends may gather Sunday, August 14th from 1 to 2 p.m. at the Weigel Funeral Home in Swanton, where a memorial service celebrating his life with Military Honors will be held at 2:00 p.m.
