Lucille M. Doren, age 90, of Swanton, Ohio, passed peacefully, Saturday afternoon, January 10, 2015, at St. Luke's Hospital, surrounded by her loving family. She was greeted with open arms at the gates of heaven by her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, and by the love of her life, Harold. On July 12, 1945, she married Harold Doren. He preceded her in death on May 30, 2007.
Lucille was born May 7, 1924 in rural Delta, Ohio to Ernest and Alice (Stebbins) Fauble. She worked alongside her husband for many years at the Old Red & White store on Airport Highway.
Lucille was a lifelong member of Trinity United Methodist Church, where she served as Sunday School Teacher for many years. Every Sunday you could find her seated in the back pew dressed in true "Mrs. Doren" fashion. She was a member of Swanton American Legion Post #479 Ladies Auxiliary. She was an active member with the Fulton County Republican Party and Fulton County Saddle Club, and she enjoyed the last several winters vacationing in Florida with her brother-in-law, James Zeller.
Lucille was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. Her life centered around her family and loved hosting family events. Lucille is survived by her children, Gary (Sheila) Doren of Swanton, OH, Rebecca (Todd) Dunkle of Holland, OH, and William (Lucy) Doren of Saline, MI; special daughter, Mary Louise Doren of Swanton, OH; 9 grandchildren, Jeffrey (Bonny), Heidi (Daryl), Jennifer (Jon), Eric (Stacy), Jared, Jason, Amy (Joe), Dawn (Jim), Brooke (Steve); 12 great-grandchildren; and a large extended family of grandchildren; great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
Besides her husband, Harold, Lucille was preceded in death by her parents; beloved granddaughter, Tamara (Heilman) Butler; and sisters, Helen Brick, Marjorie Turpening, Betty Barden and Virginia Zeller.
Family and friends may visit Tuesday, January 13th from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m., at the Weigel Funeral Home in Swanton. Visitation will continue Wednesday, January 14th from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Trinity United Methodist Church, where funeral services will begin at 11:00 a.m. Pastor J.T. Bean will officiate. Interment will follow at Swanton Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Trinity United Methodist Church.
