Luanne Buckenmeyer

Luanne Buckenmeyer, age 64, of Swanton, Ohio, passed away unexpectedly of a heart attack, Thursday, morning, November 15, 2012, at St. Luke’s Hospital in Maumee. She was born June 11, 1948 in Toledo, Ohio to Albert and Katherine (Cowell) VanCoppenolle. She was a graduate of Blissfield High School, Class of 66’. She married William Buckenmeyer on February 5, 1983. Luanne was a homemaker and helped Bill operate the family farm.

She was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Parish in Assumption. If she could, Luanne would have played cards 24/7. She enjoyed trying her luck gambling and loved shopping. Rarely did she stay still in one place, she put many miles on her car driving from one end of the county to the other. At any day, you could find her enjoying good food with friends at the Country Charm Cafe in Metamora or Bob Evans in Toledo, where the staff knew her by name.

Luanne will be remembered for her outgoing personality and was a joy to be around. She loved her family and will be greatly missed by her loving husband, Bill; son, Richard Albert (Susan) Bearer; stepchildren, Brenda Buckenmeyer, Donald (Kelli) Buckenmeyer, Laura VandeSande, Bill (Karen) Buckenmeyer; grandsons, Christopher Bearer and Richard Albert Bearer, Jr.; 9 step-grandchildren; siblings, Albert (Gloria) VanCoppenolle, Rosalind (Louis) Marlatt, Mike (Jeanie) VanCoppenolle and Dave (Sandy) VanCoppenolle; sister-in-law, Virginia Jones; special friend, Joan Mitchell; and several nieces and nephews and great-nieces and nephews.

Luanne was preceded in death by her parents, Albert and Katherine, and daughter, Christine Lynn Bearer.

Family and friends may visit Sunday, November 18th from 2 to 8 p.m. at the Weigel Funeral Home in Metamora, where a Scripture service will be held at 7:00 p.m. Prayers will begin in the funeral home at 10:00 a.m., Monday, November 19th, followed by a Mass of Resurrection at 10:30 a.m. at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Assumption, with Fr. Ron Schock officiating. Interment will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to Holy Trinity Church or given for Masses.
