Lois D. Ball

Lois D. Ball, age 92, of Toledo, Ohio; formerly of Swanton, passed away Thursday, December 19, 2024. Mrs. Ball was born on December 7, 1932, in Staten Island, New York, to Leonard Nielsen and Dagny Hermansen Nielsen.

Lois graduated from Nyack College. She was a member of Swanton Alliance Church for more than 60 years. She was involved in children’s ministry for over 50 years, teaching Sunday School and mentoring children. Lois enjoyed VBS weeks and Beulah Beach Bible Conference.

Lois is survived by her daughters, Laura (Tim) Wilson of Carrollton, TX; Linda Ruemmele of Rossford, OH; son, Steven (Kathleen) Ball of Howell, MI; sister Carol Odell of Lancaster, PA; eight grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by: Husband, David Ball; Father, Leonard Nielsen; Mother, Dagny Hermansen Nielsen; Brother, Kenneth Nielsen. 

Visitation will be held Saturday, January 18, 2025 from 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm at the Weigel Funeral Home in Swanton, where a memorial service celebrating her life will begin at 3:00 pm. 

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Beulah Beach Camp, Vermillion, Ohio.
