Linda Gamber

Linda Gamber, age 67, of Delta, Ohio, passed away Thursday, August 5, 2021, at Swanton Health Care and Retirement, following a six-month battle with ALS. She was born March 3, 1954 in Toledo, Ohio to Robert and Betty (Shepherd) Sumner-Straw. Linda was a 1972 Springfield High School graduate. After high school, she worked as a secretary and purchasing agent.

Linda was a member of St. Caspar Catholic Parish in Wauseon. She enjoyed being around people and encompassed the genuine ability to put a smile on anyone’s face. Sometimes through a simple conversation, and other times because of her angelic soprano singing voice. Linda found other ways to brighten people’s day by creating exquisite floral arrangements. She found fulfillment in making others happy. Linda also loved being around children, especially her nieces and nephews.

Left to cherish Linda’s memory is her son, Jimmy L. Sandifer, stepdaughter,
Dawn (Kamal) Smith; siblings, Robert Straw, Lenette (Jim) O’Brien, Kandy (Ron) Warner and Mary (James) Stickles; stepfather, Bud (Clarence) Sumner; step-siblings, Linda, Kenneth and Lisa; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Linda was preceded in death by her mother, Betty Sumner; father, Robert Straw; sisters, Karen Straw and Lee-ann Rayoum; brother, Alvin Straw; late husbands, Bill Sandifer and Richard Gamber, and niece, Deanna Rayoum.
