Lillian Frances Stasa, age 86, of Jasper, Michigan, died of pancreatic cancer, Friday evening, January 6, 2012, at Ebeid Hospice in Sylvania, Ohio, surrounded by her loving family. She was born May 6, 1925 in Hamler, Ohio to Joseph and Frances (Riccia) Valasek. Lillian graduated from Lake High School and on May 11, 1946, married her beloved husband, Leslie Stasa, at St. Rose Catholic Church in Perrysburg, Ohio.
Lillian was a faithful member of Holy Trinity Catholic Parish and the Altar Rosary Society. She was also a member of the Czech Dancers Polka Club, Lyons VFW Ladies Auxiliary, and St. Vincent DePaul Society.
She will be remembered as a truly kind and lovely woman who devoted her life to her loving husband of 65 years, Leslie; children, Sharon (Michael) Ott, of Allons, TN, Susan (James) Bolger of Metamora, OH, Joanne (Rick) Masters of Ann Arbor, MI; and sister, Ann Puse of Pemberville, OH. Her grandchildren, Chris (Becky) Ott, Lesley (Greg) Raney, Patrick Bolger, Tony (Wendy) Bolger, and Sean Masters; as well as her great-grandchildren, Jacob, Kyle and Kegan Ott, Morgan and Garrett Raney, and Brycen and Lillian Bolger, all gave her great pride and joy. Her cooking and baking skills were enjoyed by family and friends, especially her Christmas pastries.
The family is truly grateful to the “angels” from Hospice of Lenawee who gave her such great care for so many months. A special thanks to Tanya, Sharon, Tracy, Kelly, and Pastor John for all they did. Also to the special nurses, aides, and volunteers at Ebeid Hospice for their love and care.
Family and friends may visit Tuesday, January 10th from 3 to 8 p.m. at the Weigel Funeral Home, 413 E. Main St. in Metamora, where a Scripture service will be held at 7:00 p.m.. Prayers will begin in the funeral home at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, January 11th, followed by a Mass of Resurrection at 11:00 a.m. at Holy Trinity (Immaculate Conception) Catholic Church at Marygrove, 1750 N. Raab Road, with Fr. Ron Schock officiating. Interment will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Assumption.
Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Lenawee, Ebeid Hospice, or Holy Trinity Church.
