Lewis A. Johnson, age 96, of Delta, Ohio, passed away peacefully, Wednesday morning, February 3, 2010, at Swanton Health Care and Assisted Living. He was born January 19, 1914 in Archbold, Ohio to George and Laura (Davis) Johnson. Lewis was a U.S. Army WWII veteran, serving in the European Theater of Operations, 4th Infantry Division. He was a member of the Delta American Legion Post #373, and member of Lytton-Zion United Church of Christ. Lewis was a life-long farmer and an avid gardener.

Lewis is survived by his sister, Florence Salsberry; brother, Marvin Johnson; sisters-in-law, Grace Johnson and June Johnson; as well as several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Harry, Paul, and Ralph Johnson; and sisters, Ruby Johnson, Ethel Krieger, Grace Johnson, and Alice Johnson.

Private funeral services will be held at Weigel Funeral Home in Swanton. Interment will follow at Dutch Ridge Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
