Lennis E. Kreuz, age 69, of Columbia, South Carolina, passed away unexpectedly, Saturday, October 30, 2010, at Providence Hospital Northeast, following a brief illness. He was born April 30, 1941 in Swanton, Ohio to Bernard and Ihla (Jacobs) Kreuz. He graduated from St. Mary’s School in Assumption, and earned an Associate Degree in Engineering from the University of Toledo. On October 23, 1965, he married his beloved wife, Jeannine Sell.

Lennis was an Engineer for the Dana Corporation before retiring on November 1, 2001. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, and loved yard work and gardening – winning the coveted “Yard of the Month” award twice. He also enjoyed woodworking.

Lennis was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife of 45 years, Jeannine; daughter, Michelle Renee Kreuz; son, Mark Edward (Wendy) Kreuz; granddaughters, Brittani and Destiny; sisters, Diane Koepfer and Marcia Silveous; and special aunt, Theresa and uncle, Wayne Farnsel.

Lennis was preceded in death by his parents, Bernard and Ihla; and brothers-in-law, Jerry Tischer and Raymond Koepfer.

Friends and family may visit Friday, November 5th from 2 to 8 p.m. at the Weigel Funeral Home, 204 Chestnut St. in Swanton, Ohio (419.826.2631). Funeral services will be held Saturday, November 6th at 11:00 a.m. in the Funeral Home with Fr. Ron Schock and Pastor Mary L. Burroughs officiating. Interment will follow at Amboy Township Cemetery.
