Laura Lee Pilliod, age 60, of Swanton, Ohio, passed away Wednesday evening, April 15, 2009 at St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center, following a courageous battle with cancer. She was born January 23, 1949 in Hudson, Michigan to Lauren and Ramona (Martin) Swanger. She was actively involved with the American Heart Assoc. and instructed CPR classes.

She is survived by her son, Andrew Thomas Pilliod; loving mother, Ramona Joyce Swanger; siblings, Larry Swanger (friend Lisa Marie), Lisa (Daren) Newman, Lonnie (Sandy) Swanger and Lorna (Thomas) Magrum; nieces, Tara Ody, Trista Johnson, Samantha Swanger and nephew, Benjamin Newman.

Laura was preceded in death by her father, Lauren; son, Jody Michael Cantrell, and brother, Leslie Swanger.

Friends and family may gather Sunday, April 19th from 1 to 4 p.m. at the Weigel Funeral Home in Swanton, where a memorial service will begin at 4:00 p.m. Rev. Brian Haller will officiate.

Memorial contributions may be made to Faith Lutheran Church in Swanton or to a charity of the donor’s choice.
