Graveside Services: Wednesday, September 3rd at The Swanton Cemetery on Centerville Road

Lassiter Wheating, age 86, of Swanton, Ohio, passed away peacefully, Monday evening, September 1, 2014, at Hospice of Northwest Ohio in Perrysburg. He was born August 11, 1928 in Swanton to Glen and Hattie (Dull) Wheating. Lassiter was a U.S. Army Korean War veteran serving from 1952-1954. On November 6, 1954, he married his beloved wife, Verda Lunce.

Lassiter worked for Toledo Stamping for 42 years, retiring in 1986. He was a member of Seventh-day Adventist Church.

He is survived by his loving wife of almost 60 years, Verda; children, Dale (Cindy) Wheating, Bonnie (Terry) Bennett, and Junior Wheating; 8 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren with one more on the way.

Lassiter was preceded in death by his parents, and two sisters.

Graveside services, with Military Rites, will be held Wednesday, September 3rd at 11:00 am at Swanton Cemetery, with Pastor Patrick Mazani officiating.
