Larry G. Sutherland, age 64, of Metamora, Ohio, passed away Wednesday, November 16, 2011 at Ebeid Hospice in Sylvania. He was born February 27, 1947 in Newport, Arkansas to Leroy “RC” Sutherland and Wanda Kennedy. Larry served in the U.S. Army and was a Vietnam veteran. On November 24, 1978, he married his beloved wife, Donna Hlavacek.

Larry worked as a terminal manager for Jet Express Truck Lines in Toledo for 20 years and as safety and human resource manager for the last 2 years in Marion, Indiana.

Larry loved spending time with his family. He enjoyed working in the yard, BBQing chicken for special events. He will be remembered for his wonderful sense of humor and his quick comebacks. He was known for his big smile and big bear hugs!

He will be greatly missed by his loving wife of 33 years, Donna; mother, Wanda Syre; daughter, Brittany Sutherland (Jason Small); stepchildren, Lori (Jeff) Miller, Joseph Brown, Kevin (Caroline) Brown and Scott Brown (Dana Bradley); grandchildren, Kayli Cushman, Jaxon, Graham, and Camden Small, Jeffrey (Shelly) Miller, Luke (Alicia) Miller, Curtis Miller, Mackenzi (Gary) Roytek, Bailey Brown, Abby (Justin) Bryant, Carol, Courtney, Aric, Aaron, Maegan, and Amber Brown; great-grandchildren, Ava Miller, Logan, Brady, Collin, and Madison Roytek, FaithAnn Brown, Krystina, Ryan, Liliana Bryant, and Braylon Brown; his sister, JoAnn (Danny) Tubbs; as well as many aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews.

Larry was preceded in death by his father, Leroy; stepdaughter, Vicki Brown; stepdaughter-in-law, Michelle Brown; Aunt Gladys; Uncle Bud; Uncle Sam; grandparents, Joe and Lily Sutherland, and his loving dog, Pepper.

Family and friends may visit Sunday, November 20th from 2 to 5 and 6 to 8 p.m. at the Weigel Funeral Home, 413 E. Main St. in Metamora. Funeral services will be held Monday, November 21st at 11:00 a.m. in the Funeral Home with Pastor Amanda Ghaffarian officiating. Interment will follow at Amboy Township Cemetery.
