Larry "Bill" W. Boutwell

Larry “Bill” W. Boutwell, age 58, of Delta, Ohio, died peacefully in his home, surrounded by his loving family and friends, Sunday morning, March 24, 2013, following a courageous battle with cancer. He was born April 1, 1954 in Garden City, Michigan to Lawrence H. and Mildred (Council) Boutwell. He graduated from Franklin High School Class of ’72 and attended Schoolcraft Junior College. On May 12, 1998, Bill married the love of his life, Christina M. Shepard.

Bill worked for GM Powertrain for 30 years, retiring October 1, 2008, and was a member of the UAW. He also was a member of AA for 22 years, longtime member of Sober Riders until 1996, and current member of Wings of Change since 1997. Bill enjoyed riding his Harley Davidson, working on cars, and spending time with family and friends.

Bill will be remembered for his wonderful upbeat personality and sense of humor right up until his death. Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife of 14 years, Christina; mother, Mildred Boutwell; daughters, Ashley (Cody) Madden and Melissa (Kent) Sikora; 3 grandchildren; sisters, Barbara (Art) Zawada and Beverly (Steve) Hawkins, as well as several nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Bill was preceded in death by his father, Lawrence.

Family and friends may visit Friday, March 29th from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Weigel Funeral Home, 204 Chestnut St. in Swanton (419.826.2631). A service celebrating Bill's life will be held Saturday, March 30th at 11:00 a.m. in the funeral home with Fr. Joe Keblesh officiating. Burial will be private.

Memorial contributions may be directed to Christina Boutwell or Fulton County Alano Club.

Visitation: Friday, March 29th from 2 to 8 pm at the Weigel Funeral Home in Swanton

Funeral Service: Saturday, March 30th at 11:00 am in the Funeral Home

Interment: Private
