Kenneth Robertson, affectionately called Grampy, age 68, of Jasper, Michigan, died Monday afternoon, April 9, 2012, at Ebeid Hospice in Sylvania, Ohio. He was born February 2, 1944 in Ogden Center to Dorma and Faye (Viers) Robertson. He was a graduate of Blissfield High School - class of 62’. After graduation, Kenny joined the Air Force and served during Vietnam. On October 19, 1968, he married his beloved wife, Lydia Vaculik.
Kenny retired as a lab technician from Tecumseh Products. He was a member of St. Joseph Parish in Adrian and Loyal Order of Moose Lodge #1034 in Adrian.
He thoroughly enjoyed the outdoors – whether it was hunting, fishing, golfing, or flying R/C planes – he loved it all! Kenny was a Michigan Wolverines and Nascar fan, and enjoyed his travels to North Carolina to visit his grandkids - whom he loved and adored, and to Texas to spend time with his son, Paul -hunting and fishing and enjoying time together.
Kenny was a friend that loved at all times, touching the hearts of many.
Kenny was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and friend. He will be greatly missed by his loving wife of 43 years, Lydia; son, Paul Robertson; daughter, Kimmie (Tosh) Potter; grandchildren, Haylee and Braydon; siblings, Leslie (Marge) Robertson, Elton (Mary Lou) Robertson, Shirley Kane, Marion (Wayne) Loar, Sharon (Curtis) Crunkilton, and Sue (Dean) Davis; as well as many nieces, nephews and friends; and very special sister and brother-in-law, Helen and Larry Hesterman.
Kenny was preceded in death by his parents, Dorma and Faye; sister, Patricia Gilbert; brother-in-law, Sheldon Kane, mother-in-law, Katie Vaculik, and father-in-law, Joseph Vaculik.
Family and friends may visit Thursday, April 12th from 2 to 8 pm at the Weigel Funeral Home, 413 E. Main St. in Metamora (419.644.3601) where a Scripture service will be held at 7:30 p.m. Prayers will begin in the funeral home Friday, April 13th at 10:30 a.m., followed by a Mass of Resurrection at 11:00 a.m., at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Assumption. Interment, with Military Rites, will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Joseph Parish, Holy Trinity
Parish, Ebeid Hospice, or directed to the family to be used for a
memorial plaque.
