Kenneth Harold Miller, age 82, passed away peacefully Tuesday evening, April 1, 2025, at his home in Swanton, Ohio, surrounded by his loving family. Ken was born August 14, 1942 in Metamora, Ohio to Jerome and Beatrice (Raab) Miller.
Ken graduated from St. Mary's School in Assumption. On November 6, 1965, he married his loving and devoted wife, Mary Jo Weis. Quiet and unassuming, he had a remarkable talent for striking up a conversation with practically anyone he encountered. Ken's life was characterized by his dedication to his love for his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
He enjoyed many years in the plumber and pipe fitter trade, where he was regarded as a skilled craftsman and a jack of all trades. He had an admirable ability to rig up practically anything to streamline his work, a testament to his resourcefulness and innovative spirit.
Ken enjoyed tinkering around the house and yard, finding joy in every detail of his surroundings. He also had a fondness for travel, particularly enjoying trips to Florida and spending time at Walden Woods on the lake, where he relished moments of relaxation with family and friends.
Faith and family was at the heart of Ken's life. He was the beloved husband of 59 years to Mary Jo, and he deeply treasured his role as a father to daughters Rebecca Miller and Deborah (Bob) Toothaker-Miller, and sons Jeffrey (who predeceased him) and Benjamin (April) Miller. He took immense pride in being a grandpa to his grandchildren—Megan (Leon) Atkins, Michelle Keirsey, Danielle (Erold) Beka, Phillip (Andrea) Miller, Alexandria (Blake) Jones, Andrew (Lexi) Miller, Nicole (Sam) Sanchez, Joseph Miller, and Samantha Miller, as well as a great-grandpa to his 15 great-grandchildren. He is also remembered by his siblings, Kathleen Nowakowski, Susanne Miller, and Mary Lou (Tom) Wittscheck, along with many nieces and nephews who were all part of his extended family.
Ken was preceded in death by his parents, Jerome and Beatrice (Raab) Miller, and his son, Jeffrey Miller.
