Kenneth R. Jones

Kenneth R. Jones, age 80, of Metamora, Ohio, died Wednesday, April 3, 2013 at Hospice of Lenawee in Adrian, Michigan. He was born May 18, 1932 in Elkins, West Virginia to Theodore R. and Hilda (Eden) Jones.

In 1944 Kenneth moved to Lyons, Ohio and started working for farmers in the area. He then met Julius Victor who mentored him in the farming industry. In 1949 he started farming for his dad. His good friend, Charlie Malone, helped him acquire all of his farming equipment. Kenneth married Joyce Howell in Macon, Michigan in July of 1954.

He is survived by his sister, Minnie Alice Jones; sister-in-law, Nancy (Dearel) Jenkins; brother-in-law, Raymond (Jan) Howell; nieces, Cathy Jenkins, Susan (Gene) Miklovich and Julie Howell; and nephews, Douglas (Cheryl) Jones, Bruce (Sue) Jones and Brian Howell.

He is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Joyce; and baby sister, Delores.

Family and friends may visit Monday, April 8, 2013 from 1:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. at the Weigel Funeral Home, 413 E. Main St. in Metamora, Ohio, where the funeral service will begin at 3:30 p.m. with Rev. Ron Sparks officiating. Interment will follow at Amboy Township Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may me made to Hospice of Lenawee, 1903 Wolf Creek Hwy., Adrian, Michigan 49221.
