Kathleen Mary O'Neill

November 12, 1950 — June 20, 2014

Although much too soon, after a life very well spent, Kathleen Mary O'Neill, of Delta, Ohio, found her eternal peace quietly in her sleep on June 20, 2014 surrounded by her loving family. Though our love for her is vast and makes her loss feel like a very big void, we are relieved that she struggles no more and has been made whole and healthy in the company of her God. Born November 12, 1950, Kathie was a devoted daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, and friend to so many. To know her was to love her and certainly, to be loved by her.

Welcoming her into the presence of her God are her grandparents, Joe and Virginia Dixon; her brother, Joe Kahle; and her dad, Al Kahle. Left to cherish her many vibrant memories are her mother, Rosalie Kahle; her sister, Melissa (Fred) Sturt; her loving husband of 27 years, Tom; her children, Kelcey (Derrek) Kinzel, Troy (Shawn) Najarian, Katie (Julian) Giardello, and Kristen O'Neill; her grandchildren Alyson and Jazmyn Kinzel and Luca and Nico Giardello; a host of cousins, nieces and nephews, special in laws, and significant friends who all brought Kathie much joy throughout her life. Yes, we will miss her terribly BUT we have also assured her that we will "live happily in her place," as she constantly implored of us in her final months.

Kathie worked for many years as a hairstylist before taking her favorite job as Mom. She loved being a farmer’s wife and contributing as former owner to the family business, LL & L Farms/Trucking. Her passions were her many adventures with her husband, being outside in God’s creation, spending time with her children and grandchildren, gardening, kayaking on Wolf Lake, reading, and being involved in her community. She was a long time Fulton County 4-H advisor and dedicated member of Holy Trinity Catholic Parish in Assumption, Ohio.

Our family is forever grateful to the many incredible supporters who have rallied behind us and done so much to ease our burdens as we have traveled this difficult journey. We want to especially thank Mom’s daily caregivers in these final months, Shawna and Margie as well as the dedicated, caring hospice staff with the Senior Independence organization.

Family and friends may visit Monday, June 23rd from 1 to 8 p.m. at the Weigel Funeral Home in Swanton, where the Rosary will be recited at 7:30 pm. A Mass of Resurrection will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, June 24th at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Assumption, where the family will receive friends one hour prior to the Mass. Fr. Michael Dandurand will preside.

In lieu of flowers, Mom requested donations to Holy Trinity Catholic Parish, Holy Trinity School 2649 US 20, Swanton, OH 43558, or Senior Independence, 1730 S. Reynolds Rd., Toledo, OH 43614.
