Kathleen Heier Bozarth

Kathleen H. (Linehan) Bozarth, age 71, of Swanton, Ohio, passed away Tuesday morning, October 3, 2023 at Swanton Valley.  She was born December 16, 1951 in Watertown, New York to Robert Joseph, Sr. and Catherine Mary (Linehan) Heier.  Kathleen attended Heidelberg and The University of Toledo, obtaining her degree in accounting.  She worked as an accountant for the Congregation Binai Israel. She married her beloved husband, Gary Eugene Bozarth on September 8, 1973.   

A devout Catholic, Kathleen was a member of St. Richard Catholic Parish and its Altar & Rosary Society. Kathleen enjoyed knitting and crocheting and was an avid reader. 

Besides her husband of 50 years, Gary, Kathleen is survived by her daughter, Hope (Christopher) Vogt; son, Christopher (Jillian) Bozarth; 5 grandchildren; brothers, Paul, Mike and Bob (Jenny) Heier; sister, Reen (Terry) Matson; brothers and sisters-in-law; as well as many nieces; nephews and cousins. 

Kathleen was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Jan and brother, John.

Visitation will be held Saturday, October 7th from 11:30 to 12:30 p.m. at St. Richard Catholic Church in Swanton, where a Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 12:30 pm,  with Fr. Eric Culler presiding. Interment will follow at St. Richard’s Cemetery. 

Memorial contributions may be made to the Humane Society or St. Richard Catholic Church.
