Karla Lynn Dewey-Frosch

Karla Lynn Dewey-Frosch, age 36, went home to be with her Lord and Savior, Tuesday morning, September 23, 2014, at St. Vincent Medical Center. She died unexpectedly from injuries she sustained while being transported home from work.

Karla was born July 4, 1978 in Toledo, Ohio to Brenda Kamer and Gregory Frosch. She was born with cerebral palsy and was confined to a wheelchair. However, she never let her disability get in the way of how she lived her life, and overcame many obstacles along the way.

Karla was a 1996 graduate of Swanton High School, and attended Owens Community College majoring in Journalism. She wrote two articles for the Toledo Free Press. Karla worked computer entry and as a bookkeeper for REM Inc. She also worked in product research. Karla was proud to have her own apartment in Maumee and enjoyed decorating her porch to go with the change of the seasons. Karla loved traveling - visiting the National Parks from East Coast to Alaska.

She will be sadly missed by her loving parents, Greg and Brenda Frosch; siblings, Zachary Cole-Frosch and Hailey Frosch; stepsisters, Tammy Cole, Barbara Russin and Michelle Cleland; maternal grandfather, Amil Kamer; paternal grandmother, Jan Dewey; as well as multiple extended aunts, uncles and cousins.

Karla was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Mary Jane Kamer and Herbert Dewey and paternal grandparents, Neva and Arthur Frosch.

A celebration of Karla's life will be held Saturday, October 25, 2014 at 1:00 pm at the Swanton Church of the Nazarene, 315 W. Airport Hwy., Swanton, OH 43558, with Pastor Harold Ratliff officiating.

Memorial contributions may be made to Sunshine Children's Home.
