Juanita G. Barnes, age 86, of Delta, Ohio, died peacefully, Saturday evening, June 20, 2009 at St. Luke’s Hospital. She was born August 2, 1922 in Detroit, Michigan to Nelson H. and Mable E. (Ebersole) Fillion. On July 17, 1941, she married Gordon Edward Barnes. He preceded her in death on May 25, 1986.

Juanita worked for K-mart and Banner Mattress furniture as a sales clerk. She loved to go bowling and play bingo.

She is survived by her children, Delpha (Larry) Smith, Nancy (Jim) Frybarger, Gordon (Jeanne) Barnes, Anna Raab-Mumy, James (Lois) Barnes, and Ronald (Trudy) Barnes; 22 grandchildren and 36 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great grandson; and siblings, Francis Turk, June Cole, Alice Wright, Louis Fillion, Estil (Rose Mary) Fillion, and Nola Anne Beatly.

She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, 1 sister, 3 brothers, and grandson, Troy David Barnes.

Friends and family may visit Friday, June 26th from 2 to 8 p.m. at the Weigel Funeral Home in Swanton. Funeral services will be held Saturday, June 27th at 11:00 a.m. in the Funeral Home with Rev. Mary Burroughs officiating. Interment will follow at Sharples Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
