Joyce A. (West) Beroske

Joyce A. Beroske, age 72, of Berkey, Ohio, passed away peacefully with her Husband and Son by her side on Monday December 11, 2023, at The Toledo Hospital. She was born November 3, 1951, in Toledo, Ohio to Charles and Naomi (Stallsworth) West. Joyce was a 1969 graduate of Evergreen High School. She married Thomas T. Beroske on December 30, 1988.

Joyce devoted herself to the Village of Berkey and performed a lot of volunteer work to support the community.  She worked at the post office and worked as a clerk for the Village of Berkey. Joyce loved the outdoors, her flower gardens, animals, Halloween, going for rides on their golf cart around town plus back in the woods through the trails, and took pride in mowing Berkey Park.  Joyce was so happy when her son (Shawn) moved back to Berkey to be closer to his family. The house he purchased held a special place in her heart as she grew up next door when she was a little girl. Joyce was ecstatic when her son had decided to rebuild the old house. She spent a lot of time taking photos as the renovation progressed. Joyce loved to watch as her Husband and Son worked together in rebuilding a part of not only her childhood but a part of Berkey History.

Joyce will be dearly missed by her husband of 35 years, Tom; her son, Shawn (Dawn) Meeker; nephews, Hi (Kathy) Hollister, Matt Southard; nieces, Liz Taylor and Nichole Fair.

Joyce was preceded in death by her parents and brothers, Russell and Donald West; sister, Nina Taylor and brother-in-law, Gene Taylor.

Visitation will be held Saturday, December 16th from 2 to 5 pm at the Weigel Funeral Home in Metamora.
