On Thursday, November 12, 2009, at 10:35pm, Gary and Dana Sloan of Toledo lost their mom, Josephine. She was almost 95 and all of those years she was able to live at her own home in Swanton. Her illness was short and she did not suffer, thanks to Hospice of Northwest Ohio. She was preceded in death by her husband, Junior; brother, Mark; and sisters, Myrtle, Edna, Gayle, and Katie Bell. She is survived by her grandchildren, Jessica, Matthew, Charlie, Aaron, and Sarah; and 6 great-grandchildren.
Jo was a simple person, and throughout her life valued number one - her family. She taught them the virtue of being honest, courageous, and loyal. This is her legacy and her immortality will live on as her children have taught their children these same values. To say we will miss our “number one mom” is an understatement.
Family and friends may gather Tuesday, November 17th from 5 to 6 p.m. at the Weigel Funeral Home in Swanton, where a memorial service will be held at 6:00 p.m.
Out of respect, she would want any donations to go to the Hospice of Northwest Ohio.
