Joseph “Ray” Oldham, age 74, of Erie, Michigan, entered through the Gates of Heaven, July 18, 2013, in Petoskey, Michigan while vacationing with his wife. He was born January 13, 1939 in Detroit, Michigan to Raymond and Mary (Heffernan) Oldham. Ray married the love of his life Karen Owens on December 2, 1961 in Toledo. He received an honorable discharge from the Ohio National Guard where he worked as a specialist for the Equipment Unit from 1962-1968.

Ray worked as a tool and die machinist for Riehle Manufacturing for many years. He then went on to work for Forge Precision in Farmington Hills, Michigan, retiring in 2002. Ray was a member of Michael’s Men in Monroe, Michigan, a group of men whose mission is to make it easier for all men to see Jesus Christ in each other. He was also a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, where he served as an usher and Eucharistic minister. Ray loved boating, painting houses, woodworking, playing cards, and taking daily walks in the park with Lucy.

Ray dedicated his life to providing a happy home and secure future for his family; he will be greatly missed.

Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife of 51½ years, Karen Oldham; children, Susan and Joseph Oldham; and beloved dog, Lucy.

Ray was preceded in death by his parents, and half-sister, Genevieve Oldham.
