Joseph George Makras, age 53, of Maybee, Michigan, passed away at The University of Toledo Medical Center on Saturday, December 8, 2012. He was born July 10, 1959, in Monroe, Michigan, to George Makras and Nellie Mae Cook. He worked at Four Star Greenhouse in Monroe, Michigan for many years.

Joseph was an avid outdoorsman, who enjoyed hunting and fishing. He loved his dogs and was a breeder of German Shepherds for 20 years.

He is survived by his father, George (Connie) Makras; sons, Joseph, Nikolas, and Andrew William Makras; siblings, Marie Dennis, Pete (Margo) Makras, George Makras, Mike Makras, and Melissa (Rich) Mish; as well as many cousins, nieces, and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Nellie; and sister, Desi Makras.

A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, December 15, 2012 at 11:30 a.m. at the Weigel Funeral, 204 Chestnut St. in Swanton (419.826.2631).
