Jose H. Vasquez

Jose H. Vasquez, age 86, of Swanton, Ohio, passed away in his home, Tuesday morning, September 29, 2020, with his loving family at his bedside.  Jose was born April 13, 1934 in Monterrey, Mexico. He came to the United States in 1979 and worked as a track man for ConRail.  At that time, he met Mary Barker, and they remained special companions up until the end. 

Jose was one to rarely sit still. He was always very active working around the house and taking care of his yard.  He was good with tools and a very good authentic Mexican cook.  Jose was a very simple, hard working, independent and humble man, who loved his dogs and was very much loved by his family.

He will be greatly missed by his special companion of over 40 years, Mary; children, Armando (Rosa) Vasquez and Victoria Carros (Fiance, Edward LaPlante, Jr.); grandchildren, Gabe, Emma, Kaylee and Jacob; stepchildren, Candy (Willis) Peoples and Roger Barker; and step-grandchildren, Hosanna, Nicole and Dakota.

Visitation will be held Sunday, September 4th from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Weigel Funeral Home in Swanton.  Graveside services will be held Monday, October 5th at 11:00 a.m. at Swanton Cemetery on Centerville Road.
