John P. Farkas

John P. Farkas, age 91, of Swanton, Ohio, passed away Monday afternoon, August 17, 2015, at St. Luke's Hospital in Maumee. He was born June 1, 1924 in Toledo, Ohio to the late Michael and Elizabeth (Feyes) Farkas. John married his beloved wife Merideth "De De" Trombley on November 25, 1944. She preceded him in death on February 11, 2009. John drove truck for Georgia Pacific Lumber and Plywood Company for over 30 years, retiring in 1986.

John is survived by his daughters, Jacqueline (Ron) Couch of Reading, MI, Sandra Graham of Delta, OH; sons, Dennis (Joyce) Farkas of Euclid, OH, Kenneth (Beth) Farkas of Toledo, OH and Thomas (Barbara) Farkas of Toledo, OH; daughter-in-law, Cynthia Farkas; grandchildren, Jeff (Amy) Couch, Shelly Couch, Rhonda Couch, Marshall Wolf, Ryan (Brittany) Farkas, Evan (Samanda) Farkas, Daniel Farkas, Kyle (Katherine) Farkas, Julia Farkas, Christopher (Sarah) Farkas, John "JW" Farkas, Sean Farkas and Kevin Farkas; great-grandchildren, Maetrix Farkas, Kendra and Xavier Wolf, Alex, Logan and Jason Farkas, Noah Jayne, Patrick Farkas, Anthony Swincicki and Audrianna Scott.

Besides his wife, Merideth, John was preceded in death by his parents; son, Michael Farkas; and grandson, Michael Wolf.

Visitation will be held Thursday, August 20th from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. (Noon) at the Weigel Funeral Home in Swanton (419.826.2631), where funeral services will begin at 12:00 p.m. (Noon) with Pastor Eric Markovich officiating. Interment will follow at East Swanton Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
