John Kenneth Bell, age 66, of Swanton, Ohio, passed away Monday evening, May 16, 2011, at Hospice of Northwest Ohio in Toledo. He was born May 2, 1945 in Toledo, Ohio to the late Kenneth and Betty (Bryan) Bell. He served in the U.S. Army from 1964 to 1966.
John worked as a purchasing agent for Johns Manville until his retirement in 2005. He was a member of Swanton American Legion Post #479 and VFW Swanton Memorial Post #8598. John enjoyed the summer months, spending time outdoors with Sully’s Chicken BBQ Crew – cooking for various events around the Swanton community.
He is survived by his son, Ronald (Angie) Bell; grandchildren, Blain and Christian Bell, Heather Evans, Brittany Roth, Bryce Pfund, and Balyn Ponce; great-grandchildren, Connor Evans, and Jayden, Brody and Aailya Hernandez; and brother, George.
Friends and family may visit Thursday, May 19th from 2 to 8 p.m. at the Weigel Funeral Home in Swanton. Funeral services will be held Friday, May 20th at 11:00 a.m. in the funeral home, with Rev. Brian Haller officiating. Interment, with Military Honors, will follow at Highland Memory Gardens.
Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Northwest Ohio.
