Joan Cora Vasvery

Joan Cora Vasvery, age 80, of Delta, Ohio, passed away in her home, Friday morning, April 5, 2019.  She was born September 19, 1938 in Toledo, Ohio to George and Stella (Lipinski) Long. On April 21, 1956, she married her loving husband, Steve Vasvery, Jr.  He preceded her in death on December 19, 2015.

Joan worked for Clevite (Tenneco) and devoted her time raising five children.  She will be greatly missed by her children, Debra (Michael) Lauharn, Steven Vasvery, George (Tracey) Vasvery, Shelley (Tony) Vasvery and Tina (John) Konczal; 9 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren; and siblings, Pat Griffin, Peggy Johnson, Mary Long and Kathy Long.

Besides her husband of 59 years, Steve, Joan was preceded in death by their infant son, John; parents and sister, Diane Emahiser.

Family and friends may visit Monday, April 8th from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Weigel Funeral Home in Swanton (419.826.2631).  Funeral services will be held Tuesday, April 9th at 11:00 a.m. in the funeral home with Rev. Donna Stutzman officiating.  Interment will follow at Westhope Cemetery in McClure.
