Joan M. Cramer

Joan M. Cramer, age 89, of Berkey, Ohio, entered through the gates of heaven, Wednesday morning, April 10, 2013, at St. Luke’s Hospital in Maumee. She was born March 12, 1924, in Webster, Massachusetts, to Louis and Stephanie (Mrzyglod) Bomba. On September 16, 1943, she married William J. Cramer, Sr., and he preceded her in death on October 6, 1989.

Joan worked as a sales clerk at several retail stores throughout the area, and retired from Wauseon Manufacturing. She was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Parish and its Altar-Rosary Society. She enjoyed playing Bingo, knitting, crocheting, and making crafts.

Joan will be greatly missed by her daughters, Patricia Cramer of Swanton, OH, Karen (Jeff) Zalubil of Rossford, OH; son, William Cramer, Jr. of Berkey, OH; sister, Lena Bomba of Webster, MA; as well as several nieces and nephews; and four-legged companion, Jasmine.

Besides her husband William, Sr., Joan was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Kathleen; brothers, Stanley, Mitchell, and Walter Bomba; and sisters, Rose Caplette and Stasia Rzeszutko.

Family and friends may visit Friday, April 12th from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Weigel Funeral Home in Metamora, where the Rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. Prayers will begin in the funeral home Saturday, April 13th at 11:00 a.m., followed by a Mass of Resurrection at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Assumption at 11:30 a.m. with Fr. Ron Schock officiating. Interment will follow at St. Elizabeth Cemetery.

A very special thank you to Joan’s caregivers, Becky, Grace, Mama Chris, and Jim; as well as the wonderful staff at St. Luke’s Hospital, Swanton Health Care & Retirement Center and the Swanton Rescue Unit for being so compassionate.

Memorial contributions may be made to Holy Trinity Church or the Swanton Rescue Unit.
