Jennie Neva Brand, age 86, of Sylvania, Ohio, formerly of Metamora, Ohio, passed away peacefully, Wednesday morning, June 11, 2008, at Hospice of Northwest Ohio in Perrysburg, with her loving family at her bedside. She was born April 29, 1922 in Grass Lake, Michigan to Gottlieb and Lillie (Bartig) Rothman. On May 16, 1942, she married Minor Brand.

Jennie worked at Wauseon Manufacturing Co. for 18 years, and Parker Hannifin in Metamora for 10 years, until her retirement in 1984. She also helped her husband manage the family farm. Jennie was a member of St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church in Riga, Michigan.

She is survived by her loving husband of 66 years, Minor; children, Floyd (Marian) Brand of Melrose, WI, Dolores (Jim) Schmenk of Avilla, IN, Robert (Marci) Brand of Elk, WA, Marlene (Tom) Bettinger of Elk, WA and Max (Rita) Brand of Toledo, OH; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and sisters, Emily (Henry) Vsetula of Owosso, MI and Doris Claydon of Waterford, MI.

Jennie was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Katherine Ponto.

Friends and family may visit Friday, June 13th from 2 to 8 p.m. at the Weigel Funeral Home in Metamora. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 14th at St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church, 11949 Wegner Rd, in Riga, Michigan, with Rev. Stephen Daley officiating. Interment will follow at Amboy Township Cemetery.
