Jean Hallett, age 71, of Lyons, Ohio, passed away peacefully, Thursday evening, July 24, 2014 at her sons home, in Delaware, Ohio. Jean was born on September 16, 1942 to Dale Orville Skates and Mildred Ann (Lowe) Kime. She married Rex K. Hallett on November 30, 1963; he preceded her in death on July 20, 1998. Rex and Jean owned Hallett's Hardware in Lyons for 18 years, she then worked as a dispatcher for Pahl Ready Mix. Jean then retired from Wauseon hospital in 2005 working in the Dietary Department.
Jean was a faithful member of Lyons Christian Church. She was an avid reader and just recently started knitting. Jean enjoyed spending time with her family and her animals. While living with her son Kris, she loved all the times they would use the smoker and cook all different foods.
She is survived by her mother, Mildred; loving sons, Daryl Hallett, and Kris (Laura) Hallett; grandchildren, Todd Snyder, Craig (Kari) Snyder, and Kim (fiancée, Ryan King) Snyder; siblings, Sharon (Duane) Peabody, Kathy Nino-Skates, and Dale (Sandy) Skates; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father, husband, step-father, Howard "Stub" Kime, and infant sister, Janet Skates.
Friends and family may visit Sunday, July 27th from 2 to 8 p.m. at the Lyons Christian Church at Friendship Hall, 138 Morenci St. Lyons, Ohio 43533. The family will receive family and friends on Monday, July 28, 2014 from 10:00 a.m. till 11:00 a.m. at Lyons Christian Church, with funeral services beginning at 11:00 a.m., with Pastor Paul Bomeli officiating.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the family to help with medical expenses.
