Janice Fleming

Janice T. Fleming, age 72, of Florence, South Carolina, died unexpectedly Friday, December 27, 2013 at St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center. She was born August 9, 1941 in Coshocton, Ohio to the late Robert and Louise (Cooper) Trout. She married Ross A. Fleming on July 1, 1962. He preceded her in death on October 24, 2007. Janice obtained her BS degree from Capital University and was a retired elementary school teacher for grades 2nd, 3rd, and 4th at Florence School District One.

Janice enjoyed camping, collecting cherish teddies and volunteering her time at McLeod Regional Medical Center. She was a member of Highland Park United Methodist Church and the Order of the Eastern Star – Magnolia Chapter.

Left to cherish her memory are her children, Ellen (David) Hallett of Lyons, Ohio, Debra Howell of Fayetteville, NC; David (Jennette) Fleming of Florence, SC; grandchildren, Donald and Ross Hallett, Jon and Daniel Howell, Michael (Marissa), Anna and Rachel Fleming and; great-granddaughter, Bailee Fleming; brother, Timothy (Bobbi) Trout of Sun City, AZ; and sister-in-law, Rosalee Heyman.

Family and friends may visit Tuesday, December 31st from 1:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. at Weigel Funeral Home, 413 E. Main St. in Metamora, Ohio (419.644.3601). A funeral procession will leave the funeral home at 2:40 p.m. for graveside services at 3:00 p.m. at Lyons Cemetery in Lyons, Ohio.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association or the Diabetes Foundation.
