James Louis Studenka, age 74, of Metamora, Ohio, passed away peacefully Monday, November 6, 2017 at Ebied Hospice in Sylvania. He was born May 15, 1943 to Louis and Mary (Ricica) Studenka in Adrian, Michigan. James served in the US Army.
James was a farmer and also worked for the Fulton County Sheriff Department for 29 years as a Deputy. He was a lifetime member of the Catholic War Veterans Post #306 in Assumption. James was also a member of the American Legion Post #265, Evergreen Athletic Boosters, and the Czech Dancers Polka Club.
He is survived by his son, Todd (Linda) Studenka; daughter, Jennifer Studenka Amos; grandchildren, Blake and Logan Amos; Sister, Mary (Ed) Gajdostik.
James is preceded in death by his parents, sister, Millie Hassen; and brother, Leslie Studenka.
Family and friends may visit Thursday, November 9, 2017, from 2 to 8 p.m. at the Weigel Funeral Home, 413 E. Main St. in Metamora (419.644.3601). Funeral services will be held on Friday, November 10th at 11:00 a.m. in the funeral home with Fr. Michael Dandurand presiding. Interment will be private.
Those who wish to leave a memorial in James’s memory may donate to Evergreen Athletic Boosters or Ebeid Hospice.
