James Henry Lewallen, Sr., age 71, of Swanton, Ohio, passed away in his sleep Thursday morning, May 14, 2015. He was born July 8, 1943 in Fostoria, Ohio to William Henry and Rosa (Weiker) Lewallen. He attended Anthony Wayne High School and served in the U.S. Army Reserves. On September 1, 1967, he was married to Sharon Hilyard.
Jim was a 45 year member of Plumbers and Pipefitters Local 50. He served as a journeyman welder and steamfitter, retiring in 2003. He and his wife, Sharon enjoyed spending their winters as members of Ventura Country Club in Orlando, Florida, where he loved golfing with extended family and friends. When in Ohio, you could see him around town in his red 1993 Ford F-150 Lightning pickup truck which was one of his passions. Jim will be remembered for his friendly and outgoing personality.
Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 47 years, Sharon; sons, James (Susan) Lewallen, Jr. and Randy Lewallen; grandchildren Jessica and Alexander; and 13 brothers and sisters.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents and one younger brother.
Family and friends may visit Thursday, May 21st from 2 to 8 p.m. at the Weigel Funeral Home, 204 Chestnut St. in Swanton (419.826.2631). Services will be held Friday, May 22nd at 11:00 a.m. in the funeral home with Donna Stutzman officiating. Interment will follow at Swanton Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
