James Edward Dennis, age 70, of Swanton, Ohio, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday evening, August 7, 2008, surrounded by his loving family. He was born June 24, 1938 in Wauseon, Ohio to Mel and Grace (Pontious) Dennis. He served in the U.S. Navy aboard the USS Rowe.

He leaves to cherish his memory, two daughters, Jamie (Bobby) Bogle and Jodi (Dan) Robinson; son, Jeff Dennis; 8 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; sister, Carol Gibson, and many nieces and nephews.

James was preceded in death by his parents; loving son, Scott; grandson, Jimi and brother, Charles Dennis.

Friends and family may visit Wednesday, August 13th from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Weigel Funeral Home, 204 Chestnut St. in Swanton (419-826-2631).

Funeral services will be held Thursday, August 14th at 11:00 a.m. in the funeral home, with good friend and minister Lonnie Henricks officiating. Interment will follow at Wauseon Union Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
