Jacob F. Echler, age 48, of Metamora, Ohio, passed away Thursday morning, May 23, 2013, surrounded by his loving family, at Ebeid Hospice in Sylvania. He was born June 4, 1964 in Montpelier, Ohio to William “Brownie” and Mary (Bleikamp) Echler. He proudly served in the United States Air Force, and was stationed in Germany. On February 18, 1989, he married his beloved wife, Anna Moline.
Jake was a truck driver for Ruan Transportation hauling chemicals for Worthington Steel. His greatest love in life was God and his kids. Through his faith, he was known to accept people for who they were. Jake enjoyed nature and camping, and especially loved photography.
Jake will be remembered as an all around family man. Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 24 years, Anna; daughters, Sarah and Ruthie Echler; father, William “Brownie” Echler; brother, Jeff (Rhonda) Echler; mother-in-law, Joyce Jones-Moline; brothers-in-law, Chuck Moline, Don (Martie) Moline, Tom (Kathy) Moline, and Jim (LeAnn) Moline; as well as several nieces and nephews; aunts; uncles; and cousins.
Jake was preceded in death by his mother, Mary; and grandparents, Fred and Vava Bleikamp and Vernice and Leota Echler.
Family and friends may visit Monday, May 27th from 2 to 8 p.m. at the Weigel Funeral Home, 413 E. Main St. in Metamora (419.644.3601). Funeral services will be held Tuesday, May 28th at 2:00 p.m. in the funeral home with Rev. Gary Rode officiating. Interment will follow at Riverside Cemetery in Montpelier, Ohio.
