Hazel R. McKimmy of Jackson, Missouri, and formerly of Waterville, Ohio, Federal Way, Wash, and Columbus, Ohio, passed away on her 88th birthday, Wednesday morning, March 3, 2010, at Jackson Manor in Jackson, Missouri. She was born March 3, 1922 in Wichita, Kansas to Arthur and Pearl (Beckner) Reeves. She married Harold E. McKimmy on September 2, 1944. He preceded her in death on December 12, 2007. .

Hazel was a Licensed Practical Nurse and a member of the Reynoldsburg Baptist Church.

She is survived by her children, Linda (Byron) Cox of Columbus, OH, Lillian (Subir) Lahiri of Kent, WA, Leonard (Vicki) McKimmy of Tempe, AZ and Laura (David) Meece of Jackson, MO; 11 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; and siblings, Phyllis Howard, and Joe (Lucy) Reeves.

Besides her husband, Harold, Hazel was preceded in death their 2 year old son, Harley; brothers, Calvin, Marvin and Eugene; and sister Fern.

Family and friends may visit Thursday, March 11th from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., at the Weigel Funeral Home, 413 E. Main St. in Metamora, Ohio (419-644-3601). Funeral services will begin at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday in the funeral home. Interment will follow at Amboy Township Cemetery.
