Harry Szczepanski

Harry Szczepanski, age 81, of Swanton, Ohio, entered into eternal rest, Sunday morning, January 1, 2012 at the Swanton Health Care & Retirement Center. He was born April 27, 1930 in Toledo, Ohio to Stanley and Sophia Szczepanski. Harry married Virginia Smith, and she preceded him death on July 31, 1989.

Harry retired from Schmidt Brothers Greenhouse in Swanton. He was a member of St. Richard Catholic Parish and Sons of Foreign Service Veterans.

He will be greatly missed by his children, John (Billie) Szczepanski, Elizabeth (David) Shoup, Sophie (Chuck) Wilbur, Stanley Szczepanski, Terry (Dianne) Morr, and Deborah Lake; 12 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; sisters, Stella Woods, Josephine Emahiser, and Irene Osstifin.

Besides his wife, Virginia, Harry was preceded in death by his parents, and sisters, Gertrude and Frances.

Family and friends may visit Tuesday, January 3rd from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the Weigel Funeral Home, 204 Chestnut St. in Swanton (419.826.2631). Funeral services will be held Wednesday, January 4th at 11:00 a.m. in the funeral home. Interment will follow at East Swanton Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to Swanton Health Care Activities Fund or to a charity of the donor’s choice.
