Harold Edward Stevenson, 71, of Lyons, Ohio, passed away Tuesday, July 6, 2015 of a brain aneurism at Toledo Hospital. He now rests with God in Heaven. Born November 24, 1943 in Toledo, Ohio he was the only child of John F Stevenson and Delena M Reese, both preceded him in death. as well his granddaughter, Torilyn Contreras. He was a faithful and loving husband and a proud and loving father.
Harold worked for General Motors for 32 years and retired in 1997 from the Chevy Plant in Adrian, MI. after graduating from Hudson High School in 1962. He was an avid Ohio State Buckeye fan, and in his earlier years he enjoyed softball, golf, and bowling.
He is survived by his loving wife of 32 years, Lynda (Shavalier) Stevenson and they would have celebrated their 33rd anniversary July 26, 2015.
Harold was married to Doris Habel in 1965 and their children survive him. John E (Deb) Stevenson of Martha’s Vineyard, MA; Shonda M (Scott) Nofzinger of Colorado Springs, CO; and Trent A (Terri) Stevenson of Archbold, OH. Grandchildren include Kasey Stevenson of Martha’s Vineyard, MA; Tricia Nofzinger of Colorado Springs, CO; Tyler Nofzinger of Columbus, OH; Rebecca Stevenson and Nicole Stevenson of Archbold, OH. Also one great-grand daughter, Payton Rose Nofzinger of Colorado Springs, CO.
He also raised four step-children; Michael D O’Brien of Oxnard, CA; Stephen D L (Tami) O’Brien of Wauseon, OH; Brenda S (O’Brien) (Larry) Bussing of Adrian, MI and Jason McLain of Atlanta, GA.
Step-grandchildren are Zachary M O’Brien of Oxnard, CA; Amanda (Randy) Zimmerman of Wauseon, OH; Ashley (Rob) Angel of Buckeye, AZ; Korie (Haley) O’Brien of Napoleon, OH; Amber O’Brien of Wauseon, OH and Karliegh O’Brien of Wauseon, OH. Also two step-great-grandchildren, Addielynn M Angel of Buckeye, AZ and Alyssa Tamra O’Brien of Napoleon, OH.
Left to mourn his loss are all his loved ones and his Mother-In-Law, Ms. Genevieve L. Shavalier, many friends and relatives including two special friends, Roger Clausen and Bill Smith both of Lyons, OH.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, July 11th at 11:00 a.m. at Lyons Christian Church Friendship Hall on Main Street in Lyons, Ohio, with a luncheon to follow. Pastor Paul Bomeli will officiate. Graveside services at Winameg Cemetery will be held at a later date.
