Guy E. Severin, age 85, of Toledo, Ohio, passed away peacefully, Wednesday morning, September 28, 2011 in his home. He was born February 24, 1926 in Minster, Ohio to the late Floyd and Rosella (Roth) Severin.

Guy was raised in Swanton, Ohio and growing up attended St. Richard Catholic Church. He was a 1945 graduate of Swanton High School and was one of the school’s first drum majors. He was a self-employed barber and owner/operator of Guy’s Barber Shop in Toledo from August 1959 until his retirement in 1981. He is survived by his sister, Nelda Severin; brother-in-law, Leo Campbell; several nieces and nephews; great-nieces and nephews; as well as many friends and neighbors. Guy was preceded in death by his parents; and sisters, Alicia Wambold and June Campbell. Family and friends may gather Saturday, October 1, 2011 from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. at St. Richard Catholic Church, 333 Brookside Dr., Swanton, Ohio, 43558, where a Mass of Resurrection will begin at 11:00 a.m.. Interment will follow at St. Richard’s Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Richard Church Endowment Fund or VFW Maumee Valley Post #2510, 617 2nd St., Toledo, OH 43605.
