Gladys M. Dick, age 79, of Swanton, Ohio, passed away peacefully, Wednesday morning, October 12, 2011, at Hospice of Northwest Ohio in Perrysburg. She was born in Jeannette, Pennsylvania on January 14, 1932 to the late Clarence and Mary (Davis) Lake. She was a member of the Methodist Church of Jeannette, PA and for a short time at the United Methodist Church of Delta.

Gladys worked in the community of Delta for 45 years. As a young girl she loved to ride the streetcar from Jeannette to Greensburg for toe dancing; also doing the jitter-bug and the polka with cousin Wilma. Skiing was a favorite of hers, going down the hill in Jeannette and jumping the creek. Another favorite of Glady’s and cousin Dorothy was to ride bikes to Bushy Run Battlefield and have picnics.

Gladys is survived by her husband of 64 years, Kenneth; children,

Jay (Janelle) Dick; Kay (Richard) Stout; Brian (Paula) Dick; Kendal (Christopher) Delaney; 11 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; and brother, Ira Lake.

Friends and family may visit Friday, October 14th from 2 to 8 p.m. at the Weigel Funeral Home in Swanton. Funeral services will be held Saturday, October 15th at 11:00 am in the funeral home with Rev. Donna Stutzman officiating. Interment will be private.
