George H. Ball, age 82, of Swanton, Ohio, passed away Tuesday, May 10, 2011 at Arbors of Waterville. He was born June 26, 1928 in Toledo, Ohio, to James and Mabel (Berry) Ball. On January 30, 1948, he married his beloved wife, Roberta Griesemer.

George was an ironworker and 45 year member of Local 55. He was an avid golfer and enjoyed motorcycle racing with his son. He loved spending time socializing with family and friends at Loma Linda’s and having morning coffee at McDonald’s. He loved spending time with his devoted family and his dog, Max.

Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife of 63 years, Roberta, daughter, Brenda (Chuck) Wymer of Swanton, OH and son, George David (Vicki) Ball of Swanton, OH; grandchildren, Craig (Jennifer) Wymer, Heidi (Tom) Walters, Tracy (Todd) Cramer, Lisa Renee (Mario) Dominguez, and Jeffery (Nicky) Ball; great-grandchildren, Raymond, Allie, Chloe, Maximus, Lilliana, Moses, Judah, Dreyden, Bailey, Ryan, Tim, Reid, Madison, Sam, Joe, and Emma.

George was preceded in death by brothers, John and James Ball; half-sister, Alice Rhodes; and half-brother, Harry Krabill.

Friends and family may visit Thursday, May 12th from 2 to 8 p.m. at the Weigel Funeral Home in Swanton. Funeral services will be held Friday, May 13th at 12:00 (noon) in the Funeral Home with Rev. Harold Ratliff officiating. Interment will follow at South Swanton Cemetery.
