Frieda V. Baus, age 88, of Swanton, Ohio, passed away peacefully at her home, Sunday morning, January 30, 2011. She was born February 2, 1922 in Riga, Michigan to Chester and Sylvia (Heminger) Adams. Frieda graduated from Swanton High School and on March 2, 1946, married Herman F. Baus. They raised their seven children in the home Herman built. He preceded her in death on February 7, 2009.

Frieda was a devoted servant to the Lord. She was a member of Westgate Chapel in Toledo and was a Sunday school teacher. Music was a big part of her life. At one time, she sang with the Ladies Quartet for WPOS. Frieda loved to sew and make crafts.

Left to cherish her memory are her beloved children, Gary (Kathleen) Baus of Warroad, MN, Marlene (Stuart) Ferris of Oakwood, OH, Paul Baus of Swanton, OH, Jonathan (Bonnie) Baus of Perrysburg, OH, Brenda Baus of Swanton, OH, Cheryl Baus of Swanton, OH and Katherine (Jim) Campbell of Sylvania, OH; 7 grandchildren; and 9 great-grandchildren.

Besides her husband, Herman, Frieda was preceded in death by her parents; 5 sisters; and 2 brothers.

Friends and family may visit Wednesday, February 2nd from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Weigel Funeral Home in Swanton. Funeral services will be held Thursday, February 3rd at 2:00 p.m. at Westgate Chapel, where visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Pastor Larry Carey will officiate. Entombment will follow at Highland Memory Gardens.
