Frank William Smallman, Jr.

Frank W. Smallman, Jr., age 70, of Delta, Ohio passed away on Tuesday, October 19, 2021. He was born on September 25, 1951, in Wauseon, Ohio to Frank William Smallman, Sr. and Chloe Louise (Nichols) Smallman. Frank graduated from High School in 1969. He married the love of his life, Bonnie L. Burghardt on May 13, 1971. Frank enlisted in the United States Army on August 12, 1971. After serving in the Army, he later worked at Sauder’s before retiring in 2020.

Frank was a kindhearted man, who never took life for granted. He would do anything to put a smile on his grandkid’s faces, even taking photos of him, which he typically wasn’t fond of. Frank also looked forward to spending time with his brothers being outdoors and golfing. During the summer season, he always had a bonfire on the weekends for the family to enjoy together. When Frank wasn’t embracing the outdoors, he liked playing cards, watching NCIS, Ohio State Football or the Cleveland Browns on television with his wife, Bonnie. He also enjoyed listening to music, particularly on vinyl. Frank was extremely patriotic and proud of serving his country. He loved the simple things in life as well, like watching the birds in the yard with his wife.

Left to cherish Frank’s memory are his children, Shannon (Timothy) Hahn, Nichole (David) Baughey, Frank Smallman, III and Amanda (Shane) Carr; sister, Sandra Harmon; brothers, Steve (Mary) Smallman, Terry (Christine) Smallman, Walter (Diane) Smallman, Dennis (Alice) Smallman, Rex (Ann) Smallman; grandchildren, William, Kayla, Ashley, Katrina, Kyle, Samantha, Summer, Amber, Rebecca, Rachel, Antonio, Jeanie, Kelly and Shauna; and 14 great-grandchildren.

Frank was preceded in death by his parents.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, October 26th from 3 to 7 p.m. at the Weigel Funeral Home in Metamora. Visitation will continue at the funeral home Wednesday, October 27th from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. where funeral services will begin at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Dave Underwood officiating.

Facial masks will be required at visitation and funeral.
