Frank Repka, age 92, of Swanton, Ohio, entered into eternal rest Tuesday morning, August 12, 2008, in his home. He was born December 25, 1915 in Detroit, Michigan to Joseph and Anna (Havlik) Repka. He married Helen Marie Repka on August 3, 1940, and she preceded him in death on July 16, 2008.

Frank was a life long farmer and member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Assumption. He was an organizing member of the National Farmers Organization, secretary and 72-year member of St. Anthony’s Court, recipient of the Group Leadership Award of the International Institute of Greater Toledo, and was a member of the Millbury Czech Slovak American Club and the National Alliance of Czech Catholics. He served as treasurer of the St. Vincent DePaul Society and was a member of the Knights of Columbus.

Frank was devoted to his family, loved his Czech heritage and was involved in promoting peace and justice efforts, both locally and internationally. He also was a proponent of soil conservation.

Frank is survived by his children, Helen Blanchong, deceased (Dave), Sister Fran Repka, RSM, Lil LaCrosse (Larry), Frank Repka (Peggy), Marie Clemens (Charles), Rosie Case (Mel), Joe Repka (Andrea) and Patricia Repka (Bob, deceased); 26 grandchildren and 34 great-grandchildren and sister, Lillian Valasek.

Besides his wife, Helen and parents, Frank was preceded in death by his siblings, Joseph Repka, Anna Repka, John Repka and Mary Repka.

Friends and family may visit Saturday, August 16th from 8 am to 10:30 am at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Assumption, where a Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 10:30 am. Fr. Ron Schock will officiate. Interment will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Holy Trinity Church or Hospice of Northwest Ohio.
