Francis Joseph “Frank” Myers, affectionately known as Junior, age 80, of Swanton, Ohio, entered into eternal rest, early Monday morning, August 4, 2008, at St. Luke’s Hospital. He was born June 12, 1928 in Toledo, Ohio to the late Francis and Elizabeth (Dibling) Myers. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War from 1950-1952. On March 17, 1956, he married Lois Butler. On July 6th of that year, their marriage was blessed by the Catholic church.

Frank was a diesel mechanic and heavy equipment operator for Caterpillar and Berry Equipment, and retired from SE Johnson in 1994. He was a member of St. Richard Catholic Church, Catholic Knights of Ohio and 40-year member of Swanton American Legion Post #479. He and his wife, Lois, were very active in the Maumee Senior Center and its Center Singers of Maumee. He enjoyed spending his mornings with the Swanton McDonald’s “coffee klatch”.

Frank is survived by his beloved wife of 52 years, Lois; son, Michael (Malinda) Myers of Bryan, OH, granddaughter, Erin (Joedy) Greco; great-granddaughter, Taylor Greco; brothers, Clifford (Elizabeth) Myers and Edward (Rose) Myers, as well as several nieces and nephews, who will miss him dearly.

Friends and family may visit Wednesday, August 6th from 4 to 9 p.m. at the Weigel Funeral Home in Swanton. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Richard Catholic Church on Thursday, August 7th at 10:00 a.m., where visitation will be one hour prior. Fr. Dan Zak will officiate. Interment in St. Richard Memorial Garden will follow at a later date.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Swanton Rescue Unit or to a charity of the donor’s choice.
