Francis Earl Disbrow, age 95, of Swanton, Ohio, passed away Sunday, September 28, 2008, at Harborside Healthcare in Swanton. He was born May 24, 1913 in Lyons, Ohio to Francis and Anna (Coveney) Disbrow. He was a United States Army WWII veteran, who served in North Africa and Italy. Earl was recipient of a 2 Purple Hearts and 3 Bronze Stars. On March 10, 1940, he married Dorothy Dennis.
Earl farmed early in life, and retired from Chrysler Jeep in 1975. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, working in his garden and wood chopping. Earl also enjoyed tinkering and was always looking for something to fix.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 68 years, Dorothy; children, Carole (Jim) McConkey, Diane Collins and Dave (Teresa) Disbrow; 7 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.
Earl was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Orville Disbrow and an infant sister.
Friends and family may visit Tuesday, September 30th from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. at the Weigel Funeral Home in Swanton, where funeral services will begin at 2:00 p.m. Chaplain Bob Bibbee will officiate. Interment will follow at East Swanton Cemetery.
