Francis Edward “Frank” Bezeredi, age 85, of Swanton, Ohio, passed away Friday afternoon, March 19, 2010 at St. Luke’s Hospital, surrounded by his friends and family, including his daughter, Anna Snyder; son-in-law, Edward Snyder; and namesake grandson, Frank Snyder. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Marjorie Hosler; and brothers, Paul and Thomas “Tim”. He is survived by his daughter, Anna; son-in-law, Edward; grandson, Frank; nieces; nephews; sister, Mary “Sis” Jablonski of Cleveland; and sister-in-law, Helen Bezeredi.

Frank was born March 29, 1924 and raised in Dunlo, Pennsylvania, not far from Johnstown, Pennsylvania of flood infamy, in coal country. After serving in the Army in WWII and capture during the Battle of the Bulge, he returned home to take job in the mines. A less than 2 year stint convinced him to move on by working for the railroad which took him to Toledo, where he met and married his wife, Marjorie in 1953. He left the railroad, and he and Marjorie settled in Holland, Ohio. Frank then worked in Toledo in building maintenance with a focus on janitorial and window washing duties. They settled in Holland after a brief stint running a produce market in New York from 1968-1970. They moved from Holland to Swanton in 1970. After “retirement” he ran parts for Lee’s Sales & Service in Swanton until 2005.

Frank enjoyed camping at Sunny’s Campground in Wauseon, OH with Marjorie, Anna, and their friends until Margie’s death in 1994. He also enjoyed, until last November, walking around Swanton and kibitzing with his many friends and acquaintances. Fishing and watching old westerns and war movies (especially starring John Wayne) with his grandson were also favorite activities.

Friends and family may visit Tuesday, March 23rd from 2 to 8 p.m. at the Weigel Funeral Home in Swanton, where the Rosary will be recited at 7:30 p.m. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, March 24th at 11:00 a.m. in the Funeral Home with Fr. Daniel J. Zak officiating. Interment will follow at East Swanton Cemetery, where Military Honors will be conducted by the Swanton American Legion Burial Squad.

Anna, (little) Frank, and the family wish to thank Kimberly Shelton, Dr. Su & the Toledo VA Clinic staff, as well as the wonderful professionals at St. Luke’s Hospital.
