Florence Marion Ort

Florence M. Ort, 81, of Swanton, Ohio passed away on Thursday, March 2, 2023 at Embassy of Swanton, 214 S. Munson Rd, Swanton, Ohio. She was born on September 9, 1941 in Swanton, Ohio to Harvey A. and Winifred (Munn) Ward. 

Florence received her Bachelor's degree in Education through Bowling Green University and her Master's degree in Education through the University of Indiana. She tutored many students and taught in various school districts in the area, the last one being Pettisville.

Florence was a long time member of Calvary Church in Toledo. She went on several mission trips through the church. She also was involved in archeological  diggings in Israel. Florence traveled extensively with two separate chores. One of them being Thurlow Spur CMI Michigan/Ohio Concert Choir and the other being the Bill Gaither Choir.

Florence really enjoyed being a sales representative for Royal Body Care and traveled to Japan as one of the top sellers in the nation. When she wasn't working Florence enjoyed gardening, cooking and making crafts. Her love of crafts and cooking were a blessing to her nieces and nephews. 

She is survived by her sister, Carol L. (John) Miller and many nieces and nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband,  William; sibling, Burton Ward; and one of her nephews. 

Family and friends may visit Weigel Funeral Home, 204 Chestnut in Swanton on Wednesday,  March 8, 2023 from 11:00am - 1:00pm. The funeral services will begin at 1:00. Burial will follow in Delta at Greenlawn Cemetery.
