Eva Rosebrock

Eva Rosebrock, age 97, of Metamora, Ohio, passed away peacefully with her family at her bedside, Sunday morning, January 18, 2015, at Hospice of Northwest Ohio in Perrysburg. She was born November 9, 1917, in Cleveland, Ohio to Adam and Eva (Lenhardt) Riesz. On December 28, 1940, she married Herman Rosebrock. Eva was a stay at home mom raising their three children. In their later years, she and Herman enjoyed wintering in Arizona and spending time with their grandchildren.

Eva was a very outgoing, friendly, caring and optimistic person, who gratefully, remained very mentally sharp right up to the very end. She was a 60-year member of Faith Evangelical Lutheran Church in Metamora, where she served a very active role in the missionary society.

Eva resided at Swanton Health Care Assisted Living for the past two years. She cherished the friendships she made with the other residents, nurses and staff. Everyone there was like her second family.

Eva is survived by her sons, John P. (Carol) Rosebrock of Maumee, OH and Robert A. Rosebrock of Metamora, OH; daughter, Doris (William) Weiss of Perrysburg, OH; three grandchildren, Amy Rosebrock, James Weiss and Elisabeth Weiss; sister, Katherine Keith; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Eva was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Herman; brother, Adam Riesz; and sister, Elisabeth Pethtel.

The family extends a heartfelt thank you to the nurses and staff at Swanton Health Care and Hospice of Northwest Ohio for their compassionate care.

Family and friends may visit Wednesday, January 21st from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Weigel Funeral Home, 413 E. Main St. in Metamora (419.644.3601). Funeral services will be held Thursday, January 22nd at 11:00 a.m. at Faith Evangelical Lutheran Church in Metamora, with Pastor Dan Bradberg officiating. Interment will follow at Amboy Township Cemetery.
