Eugene Earl Roberts, age 86, of Swanton, Ohio, died Thursday afternoon, July 16, 2009 at Swanton Valley & Rehabilitation Center. He was born October 20, 1922 in Muncie, Indiana to the late Earl and Rhoda Bel (Bixler) Roberts. He married Alice Mae Mann.

Eugene was a WWII U.S. Army veteran, who served as First Sergeant in the 1129th Engineering Combat Group. He retired from General Motors where he worked as a design engineer.

Besides his parents, Eugene was preceded in death by his wife, Alice and son, Kelly Eugene Roberts.

Private interment will be held at Toledo Memorial Park in Sylvania, Ohio.

Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
